Marilyn Puckett

Marilyn Marie Puckett was born October 3, 1955 at Cardwell Memorial Hospital in Stella, Missouri, one of five children to Ernest and Ida (Stewart) Simpson. She entered into rest on December 25, 2021 in Neosho at the age of 66. 

Marilyn was a lifelong area resident and had worked in nursing, delivering puppies to pet stores all over the USA for Reedgate Kennels, Sunbeam and most recently as hotel desk manager at Booneslick Lodge in Neosho and Jane. 

She enjoyed spending time with her family, dressing like a clown for parades, known as ‘Sunshine Sally’; ceramics, crafts, doll making and painted beautiful oil paintings. She attended the Stella United Methodist Church. 

Marilyn and Steven Puckett were married on July 2, 1971 in Exeter and he survives. 

In addition to her husband of fifty years, she is survived by five children, Cindy (Lance) Renner of Stella; Scott (Amber) Puckett of Oronogo; MaRissa (Ryan) Swafford of Grove, Oklahoma, Michael Puckett of Grove, Oklahoma and Nikki Puckett of the home. 

Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, Trae (Morgan) Renner, Kacia Lowe, Kelsey (Tyler) Pruitt, Riley Renner, Adreanna Barnard, Connor Barnard, Shyanne Puckett, Gabe Puckett, Mollie, Seth, Charlie and Jocelyn Swafford; eight great-grandchildren and two on the way, Cara and Haven Lowe, Hadlee and Jack Renner, Delanee Bronson, Kaylynn, Kodi and Karlie Pruitt; two brothers, Rolley (Shirley) Simpson of Florida, Gary (Judy) Simpson, Odessa, Missouri and one sister, Tenna Baker of Goodman. She is preceded in death by her parents, a nephew Rob ‘Baker’ Hafle, brother, Charles Junior Simpson and sister-in-law, Martha Simpson.
