(From Paul Thomas Funeral Home)Ronald G. Barr of Miami, OK passed from this life Friday, December 17, 2021 at Global Higher Call Nursing in Quapaw, OK. He was 78.
Ronald was born May 24, 1943 In Treece, KS to Melvin and Delma (Klein) Barr. He had lived in the Treece, Picher and Miami area all his life. He served in the Army National Guard.
Ronald had worked for B.F. Goodrich in Miami and McCartney in Baxter Springs, KS as a machinist. He was a preacher, everyone he knew called him the "Singing Preacher" and also an evangelist.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Barr.
Ronald is survived by his wife Opal (Maute) Barr of the home, 1 son, Ricky Barr and his wife Pam of Springfield, MO, 2 daughters, Candie McSpadden and her husband Denny of Ketchum, OK and Tracy Coach and her husband Johnny of Wyandotte, OK, 3 brothers, Bill Barr of Kissimee, FL, Gary Barr of Miami, OK and Randy Barr of Lowell, KS, 2 sisters, Sue Madden of Joplin, MO and Marilyn Thompson of Miami, OK and grandchildren, Courtney Barr, Kacy Chance, Guthrie McSpadden, Newly McSpadden and Tater Barr McSpadden. Guthrie McSpadden wife Dally McSpadden Newly McSpadden wife Leslie McSpadden Great Grandchildren: Paisley,Kaden, Bryer, Piper, and Palmer McSpadden.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK with Rev. Wes Woodcock officiating. Interment will follow in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, OK with Ricky Barr, Denny McSpadden, Johnny Coach, Tim Swob, Tater McSpadden and Chad Thompson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.
