(From Clark Funeral Home)Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Sofia, age 75, of Diamond, Missouri, passed away at 4:32 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at her home. She was born July 5, 1946, in Dimmitt, Texas, to the late George and Ella (Richards) Book.
Betty graduated from Nazareth High School in Nazareth, Texas. She worked in customer service for Walmart and Scholastic Books, retiring in 2009.
Betty loved to quilt and sew, leaving a legacy of dresses for her many granddaughters. On May 11, 1987, she married Larry Sofia in Sarcoxie, Missouri. He preceded her on June 1, 2010.
Survivors include her four children and their spouses, Alan and Stacy Clement of Webb City, Missouri, Ryan and Monica Clement of Diamond, Missouri; Charles and April Clement of Carthage, Missouri, and Kim and Robert Walker of Neosho; eight grandchildren, Charles (Chelsea) Clement, Chad Clement, Seth Clement, Taylor Walker, Cheyenne (Stephen) Johnson, Tyler, Landon, and Brayden Clement; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joan Harvey of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
In addition to her parents and husband; two sisters, Alice Spear and Lois Sinclair; brother, George Book; and granddaughter, Christina Walker, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, with Pastor Russell Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00–6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, in the funeral home.
