(From Ozark Funeral Home)Mr. Hugh Haney, Jr., 90, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, in the comfort of his home.
Hugh entered this life on September 21, 1931, in Bonham, Texas, son of the late Hugh Haney, Sr. and Jennie (Davis) Haney. He resided in Western Texas, before moving to Noel, Missouri, in 1975.
On July 26, 1985, he was united in marriage to Hester Barker and together they have shared the last thirty-six years.
He worked for the cities of Noel and Southwest City as maintenance supervisor for several years, retiring in 1993. In February of 1998, he and Hester moved to Anderson, Missouri. He enjoyed attending livestock auctions, mowing and tending to the needs of his property.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Kenny Hugh Stephens and Ann Marie Haney; three brothers, Freddy, Edgar and Rayburn Haney; five sisters, Mary Marshall, Marie Rogers, Lucille Manning, Irene Gordon and Elsie Burk; a niece, Marsha Skaggs; a daughter in-law, Karen Altergott; and a stepson in-law, Mark Emery.
Hugh is survived by his wife, Hester Haney of the home; four children, Dawn “Dee” Palazzolo and husband, Michael, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tammy Anne Lyon and husband, James, of Amarillo, Texas, Scott Haney of Greeley, Colorado and Michelle Stephens and William Jackson of Lanagan, Missouri; three stepchildren, Kim Emery of Kansas City, Missouri, Matthew Barker and wife, Lisa, of Phoenix, Arizona and Shelley Paul and husband, James, of Neosho, Missouri; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one step-great grandson; one great-great grandson; as well as a host of other family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, December 29, 2021 from 5-7:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website, www.ozarkfuneralhome.com.
