(From Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home)Mr. Milton R. Lawrence, 87, of Carthage, Missouri, formerly of Alba, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, in the comfort of his home.
Milton entered this life on August 26, 1934, near Alba, Missouri, son of the late Chester and Elma (Myers) Lawrence. He was raised on the family farm near Alba and was a graduate of Alba High School. Following high school, he enlisted and served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force.
On April 11, 1966, he was united in marriage to Lucille Bradshaw and together they have shared the last fifty-five years. Milton drove a truck for over fifty years, retiring in 2007. He and Lucille have resided in Carthage, Missouri, since 1997. He enjoyed working, mowing his yard and visiting with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mike Lawrence; a grandson, Joey Dabbs; two brothers, Jim and Dick Lawrence; and a sister, Francis Williams.
Milton is survived by his wife, Lucille Lawrence of the home; four children, Joe Dabbs and wife, Samantha, of Omaha, Nebraska, Vicki Renfro and husband, Paul, of Carterville, Cindy Adams and husband, LeeRoy, of Oronogo and Stacy Donham also of Oronogo; eight grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Letha Spry of Joplin; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside services will be held privately for the family at Friends Cemetery in Purcell, Missouri with Dan Hathcock officiating. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Jake Surridge, John Boles, LeeRoy Adams, Jerrod Hughey, Paul Renfro, Kevin Dabbs and Gary Pierce. Arrangements are under the direction of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
