(From Fohn Funeral Home)Ruth “Willeen” Stogdill, age 84, of Neosho, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Medicalodges Neosho in Neosho, Missouri.
She was born May 1, 1937 in Wyandotte, Oklahoma, the daughter of Albert “Willie” Wilson and Euna Murl (Miller) Beaver.
On August 22, 1953 in Loomis, California she was united in marriage to Warren Albert Stogdill, who preceded her in death on October 21, 2021. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Melvin Shingleton and Harold Shingleton; one sister, Virginia Mitchell and one son-in-law, Jerry Pettit.
Survivors include one son, David Clinton Stogdill and his wife Debra of Palmer, Alaska; two daughters, Kedren Diane Pettit of Carl Junction, Missouri and Holly Elizabeth Lyall and her husband Loy of Neosho, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Willis Beaver and one sister Hazel Lambert.
Willeen attended school in California, moving back to Washburn in 1959 and then to Exeter in 1999. She was a homemaker and also a babysitter for several years. Spending time with family, relaxing and watching TV was what she enjoyed but she loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Being with family was the highlight of her life. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday School.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Washburn, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Randy Comer will conduct the services. Burial will be at Roller Cemetery near Washburn.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near Washburn.
Contributions may be made to Roller Cemetery in memory of Willeen.
