(From Parker Mortuary) Curtis R. Wilson Jr. (also known as Butch to his family and childhood friends) passed into eternity on December 16, 2021. He was born on November 22, 1957 in Rockford, Illinois to Dolores (Dunman) Wilson and Curtis R. Wilson Sr.
Curtis’ childhood was spent in Rockford, Illinois, Kansas City, Missouri, Beloit, Wisconsin, and Orange Park, Florida where he graduated from high school. After graduation, he joined the US Marines and did a tour in Japan.
Curtis’ career after the Marines was spent in direct sales including owning his own phone book company. He was very proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He was a man of faith and loved Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-brother, Larry.
He is survived by his father, Curtis and stepmother Olivia, Beloit Wisconsin, his children, Brandy McKenna, Springfield, Missouri, Christina Wilson and Curtis Wilson III, both of Webb City, Missouri, Clinton and wife Gaby of San Antonio, Texas. Grandchildren D’Angelo Walkes, Makayla Walkes, Jayden Haggard, Jasmyn Wilson, Curtis Wilson IV, Paige Wilson, CJ Wilson, and great grandson Kipo Walkes. Siblings Cindy (Allen) McKillips, Beloit, Wisconsin, Carla (Harry) Wilson-Anderson and aunt Linda Dunman both of Kansas City, Missouri, and step-sister Lori (Justin) Cross of Texas, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Carterville Christian Church with Pastor Robin Sigars officiating.
Private interment of his ashes will be at a later date in Carterville Cemetery.
