(From Parker Mortuary)Michael John Rosewicz, age 58, of Joplin, passed away on December 15, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Michael, son of Julius and Loretta (Graskemper) Rosewicz, was born on September 12, 1963 in Monett, MO. He was a graduate of McAuley High School, where he was a basketball star, and then attained his bachelor's in business from Missouri Southern State University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu. He was employed in sales until his early retirement.
Michael was always a family man first and foremost. His most cherished moments were those spent with his children. Michael’s love for his family and good friends was followed by that of the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Cardinals, and good beer. A frequent patron of Old Chicago, Michael enjoyed the fun atmosphere that brought many of his favorite things together. He particularly enjoyed taking part in the infamous World Beer Tours.
Survivors include his mother, Loretta Rosewicz, of Joplin; and three children: John Rosewicz and his wife, Anna; Jana Rosewicz, and Megan Rosewicz, all of Springfield. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Lynn Rosewicz, in 1979; and his father, Julius Rosewicz, in 2014.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Joplin with burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Monday, December 20th at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with prayer to follow at Parker Mortuary in Joplin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial contributions be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in memory of Michael Rosewicz or may be entrusted to the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
