(From Knell Mortuary)Karen Elsie Danner, 65, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. Karen was born January 29, 1956, in Carthage, Missouri, the daughter of Robert W. Spain and Nova J. (Wise) Spain. She was a 1975 graduate of Carthage High School. She worked at Taco Town in Carthage.
Karen married her companion of 33 years, Steven Danner, on December 12, 2006. She enjoyed Bingo, bowling, playing cards, spending time with family, but most of all, loved playing with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Steven Danner; two sons, Blaine Danner (Camden), Carthage, and Cody Danner, Carthage; a daughter, Wendy Tollett, Cayuga, New York; grandchildren, Berry Danner, and Everleigh Danner; one brother, Bobby Spain, Carthage; two sisters, Sharon Kohley, Carthage, and Robin VonGonten (Dale), Carthage; and a sister-in-law and best friend, Donna Danner, Carthage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son-in-law, Greg Tollett.
Memorial visitation will be held 2-3 pm, Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to help with Karen’s funeral expenses in care of Knell Mortuary.
