(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Jerry D. Sirmans, 73, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital. Jerry was born in Gilmer, Texas on December 18, 1948 to Willard Sirmans and Virginia “Hall” Sirmans.
Jerry was a math teacher in San Antonio, Texas, before moving to Missouri six years ago. He continued teaching for Carthage and Webb City schools, even after retiring.
He served his country in the United States Air Force, he was a member of the Carthage Sr. Men’s Golf League, and a gentleman cattle rancher.
Jerry is survived by two sons, Jerry Willard Sirmans (Jamie) of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Benjamin Ernest Sirmans (Angela) of Wichita, Kansas; 10 granddaughters, Alex, Cessaly, Phelicia, Makayla, Morgan, Alawna, Lynzie, Kaiden, Chelsea, and Skylar; nine great-grandchildren, Beau, Trey, Lux, Lola, Jett, Colt, Michael, Nathan, and Jaxen; two brothers, Royce Sirmans of Carthage, Missouri and Tony Sirmans of Wichita, Kansas; and one sister, Peggy Withers of Wichita, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Virginia Sirmans; and three sisters, Pat, Ann, and Sandra.
A service is scheduled for Jerry at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
