Rosena Douthit

Rosena Mae Douthit of Miami, OK passed from this life Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at her home. She was 84.

Rosena was born November 17, 1937 in Ottawa County, OK to Fred and Thelma (Ball) Witte. She had lived in the Miami area all her life. Rosena graduated from Wyandotte High School class of 1956. She had worked as a seamstress for Glen Berry Garment Manufacturing in Commerce, OK and later as a custodian for the Oklahoma Welcome Center in Miami.

Rosena was preceded in death by her husband Frank Harold Douthit in 2018, her son Harold Frank “Frankie” Douthit, 2 daughters, Nancy Sue Douthit and Angela Dawn Douthit, 3 brothers, Amos Witte, Glen Witte and Paul Witte and 3 sisters Roberta Cole, Leota Faye Witte and Mavis Barnett.

Survivors includes 4 daughters, Simmie Lea Douthit of San Antonio, TX, Lorri Ann Force and husband William of Saint Robert, MO, Melissa Jo Smith and husband Eric of Welch, OK and Shelly Alana Delcour – Douthit of Miami, OK, 1 brother, Edward Witte of Stark City, MO, 3 sisters, Virginia Mahurin of Fairland, OK, Vivian Elliott of Fairland, OK and Ruby Ange of Bowling Green, KY, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be Friday, December 31, 2021 for immediate family only at Ottawa Indian Cemetery, southeast of Miami, OK. Rev. Geoff Buffalo will officiate.
