(From Derfelt Funeral Home)AnnaBelle Blood, of Joplin, Missouri, passed from this life on Friday, January 7, 2022, just 16 days shy of being 98 years old.
AnnaBelle was born January 24, 1924 to the union of Leonard Roland and Mary (Summers) Roland.
Annabelle was united in marriage to Martin L. Blood on August 15, 1942 in Joplin, MO. Their union lasted 70 years.
Annabelle and Martin spent time traveling/moving to many locations including Missouri, California, Colorado and Florida. They lived out the rest of their days from 1978 until their deaths in Joplin, Missouri.
Annabelle worked as a medical assistant for the Medical Arts in Lakewood, CO and retired in 1972. She also babysat grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other family members.
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, working puzzles and played on her computer table until the end.
She had a huge heart and passion for helping others. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed and remembered by all that knew her.
Annabelle is preceded in death by: her parents, husband, daughter-Phyllis Kost; grandson- Gary Blood (dod-2017), great-grandson-Ryan (dod-5/), sister-Lorene Butler, and brothers- Bud Roland, John Roland, Lester Roland, and Virgil Roland.
AnnaBelle is survived by daughter- Ann Jachetta (Charles) of Sedalia, MO, two sons- M. Leon Blood of Fairbanks, AK, and G. Valor Blood (Vikki) of Joplin, MO, 2 adopted daughters that were also granddaughters-Crystal DeWeese of Joplin, MO, and E. Michelle Bowers (Chuck) of Joplin, MO; Sisters- MaryEtta Nolan of Mountain View, MO, Catherine Norton of Denver, CO, Josephine Arehart of Tulsa, OK, and Bettie Keene of Pineville, MO; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Celebration of life will be on 1/29/2022. Location: Silver Creek Community Center @ 3106 Silver Creek Dr. Joplin MO and also in Sedalia, CO.
Ceremony will begin at 5 pm by Darrell Smith and then anyone else who wants to speak they can. A video presentation will begin at 5:45 pm.
