Peggy Echols

Mrs. Peggy Jean Echols of Anderson, Missouri passed away peacefully after a short battle with lung cancer. She was born in Ranger, Texas on April 5, 1942 and passed away in Anderson, Missouri on January 01, 2022.

Peggy graduated from Denton High School in Texas in 1960. After graduation she attended Business School in Dallas where she met and married the love of her life, James Edward Echols, March 03, 1961. She was an Insurance Specialist for a Doctor’s Office prior to her retirement. 








After retirement, they settled in Anderson, Missouri to enjoy life in the Ozarks. She had a great love for plants and flowers and could always be found working on them in her yard. Peggy also loved and enjoyed music, her favorite musician being Elvis Presley. She collected Elvis memorabilia. Peggy became an active member of the Red Hat Society after the passing of her husband.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and spouse. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Debbie Gilby and husband Gary Gilby of McKinney, TX and son, Jimmy Echols of Anderson, MO; sisters, Ala Joy Davis of Euless, TX and Brinda Young Snoke of Garland, TX; three grandchildren, Michael Echols, Rachel Durden, and Daniel Durden; three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peggy is to be interred alongside her beloved spouse, James Edward Echols, at Veterans National Cemetery. It is Peggy’s desire to hold no service, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity in her honor.
