(From Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary)Mr. Dale Richard Wark, 72, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Friday morning, May 6, 2022, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.
Dale entered this life on February 17, 1950, in Endicott, New York, son of the late William John and Margaret Louise (Leibenguth) Wark. He was raised and attended school in Vestal, New York. Following school, he enlisted and served his country faithfully as a United States Marine.
On October 11, 1980, he was united in marriage to Olympia Yasich and together they have shared the last forty-one years. They resided in Arizona until moving to Golden, Missouri, in 1998. In 2006, they made the decision to relocate to Joplin. Throughout his life he worked in the field of HVAC and as a truck driver, fully retiring in 2009. He enjoyed motorcycles and fast draw shooting competitions. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Joplin.
Dale is survived by his wife, Olympia Wark of the home; two daughters, Amy Guynn of Erie, Pennsylvania and Teresa Gregory of Binghamton, New York; a stepdaughter, Marie Larsen of Lakewood, Colorado; five grandchildren; and three brothers, William Wark of Iowa, Lewis Wark and Edward Wark both of the state of Florida.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Friday morning, May 13, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with Father Brian Straus presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
