(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Deborath Ann Batson, 73 of Quapaw, Oklahoma passed from this life on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Eastwood Manor Nursing Home, Commerce, OK. She was surrounded by her family.
Debbie was born April 9, 1949 in Joplin, MO to the union of William Edgar Jones and Guida Inez (Brown) Lowery.
After graduating high school, Debbie took college classes for nursing and cosmetology. Even though both interested her, she enjoyed being a seamstress and machine quilting. She put many quilts together for people over the years. She enjoyed working on puzzles, reading books and playing dominoes. She was a member of the Grace Community Church, Riverton, KS.
Debbie was united in marriage to Joseph Batson on September 2, 1983 in Miami, OK. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include daughter, Wilhelmina Braman of Seneca, MO; step daughter, Pamela Faatiliga (Rick) and stepson, Joe Etter (Cathy) residing in CA; Nana to Coty Allen (Alexandra), Caliegh Taylor, Morgan Braman, Remington Taylor (Macey), Chapel Braman, Boston Braman, Kaleigh Cox, and Cami Bush; 4 great grandchildren along with numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, one son, William Gideon, and stepson, Chris Etter and 2 step grandchildren.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Baxter Springs Cemetery. Pastor Wes Davis will officiate. Debbie has been entrusted to Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel for cremation. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
