(From Clark Funeral Home)Georgia Mae Stroud, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, in Joplin, Missouri. She was born June 4, 1939, in Neosho, Missouri, to the late George and Verna (Rodney) Myer.
Georgia graduated from Pittsburg State University with a master’s degree in education, which she used for several years to teach school.
After college, Georgia met Garry Stroud, and they were united in marriage on January 25, 1962.
Georgia loved her critters, was an avid bowler and reader and was a proud supporter of the Fairview Library.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother-in-law; Paul (Kay) Meyer, two nephews, Jason (Mary) Meyer and David Myer, and niece; Stephanie Cosby.
Georgia is preceded in death by her parents, half-brother; Howard Meyer, half-sister; Mary Ann Stern, and nephew; Daniel Meyer.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the Dice Cemetery, with David Byler officiating. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Georgia Stroud to the Fairview Library or Faithful Friends Animal Advocates c/o Clark Funeral Home PO Box 26, Granby, MO 64844
