Gary Trim

Gary Allen Trim, age 81, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at his home with family at his side.

Gary was born October 27, 1940 in Joplin, son of the late Martin Allen Trim and Christine (Eliason) Trim. He graduated from Joplin High School and attended Joplin Junior College before joining the United States Navy. 

While serving in Ireland he met Christine Collins. They were married Oct 23rd, 1962. 

After his service, they returned to Joplin where Gary was employed by Missouri-American Water Company. He provided service for over 40 years before retiring as manager in 2001. Gary enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was an avid golfer. He was also a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Joplin.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years, Christine (Collins) Trim; son, Mark Trim and partner, Steven Beane of Holly Springs, N.C.; daughters, Cindy and husband, James Devlin of Scottsdale, AZ; and Mary and husband, Scott Hild of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Tanner Devlin and wife, Amanda; Lauren Devlin, Nicholas Hild, and Ella Hild; sister, Shirley and husband, Carl Wilson of Carl Junction; brothers, Mike Trim and wife, Jean of Webb City; and Paul Trim and wife, Kathy of Joplin; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Joplin with Father Joe Weidenbenner officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.

A prayer service will be held on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with visitation to follow.
