Mrs. Geraldine Lenore “Gerry” Riggs, 83, of Neosho, Missouri, formerly of Noel and Bella Vista, departed this life on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Oak Pointe in Neosho, after recent complications of a stroke.

Gerry entered this life on March 9, 1939, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, the only child born to the union of the late Gilbert and Mildred (Pitz) Sutliff. 

Her formative years were spent in Oregon, South Dakota and Downey, California, graduating from Downey High School in 1957. She furthered her education by receiving a bachelor's degree from California State University at Fullerton. 

On February 14, 1959, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Robert Riggs, and together they have shared the last sixty-three years. They resided in South Gate, California, for several years, where Gerry was employed by Boeing Aircraft as a secretary. They moved to Noel, Missouri, in 2008 and later to Bella Vista, Arkansas, in 2010. She was a prolific reader and an excellent writer. Gerry was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Riggs of the home, as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2022, at Noel Cemetery in Noel, Missouri, with Pastor Marilyn O’Brien officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.
