Frank McKinney

Francis “Frank” Jean McKinney was born October 12, 1948, in Dachau, Germany, one of two sons to Cecil and Marguerite (Kimmlingen) McKinney. He entered into rest on September 13, 2022, in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 73. 

Frank graduated from Granby High School in 1967 and attended Crowder College, where he met the love of his life, Marie Pogue. 

He began his career in banking working at Security Bank and Trust in Miami, Oklahoma, in 1980 and then worked at the Bank of Miami in Miami, Oklahoma as a Loan officer and Vice President. Frank served as Vice President for TTCU in Miami, Oklahoma, until his retirement in 2015. 








In 2018, Frank and his wife, Marie, moved to Neosho, where he enjoyed playing golf and fishing. Frank was a member of the Ottawa Indian Baptist Church in Miami, Oklahoma and a former member of the Jaycees and Lion’s Clubs in Miami, Oklahoma. On June 27, 1968, in Stark City, Missouri, Frank and Marie (Pogue) were united in marriage; JR Burr officiated.

Frank is survived by his wife, Marie, of 54 years; one son, Jason McKinney, and husband, Mark LaTurner of Joplin, Missouri, and his brother, Ira McKinney, and wife, Linda of Neosho, Missouri.

He is preceded in death by his parents.






 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, September 19, 2022, at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories; Pastor Kevin Bass will officiate. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery, Stella, Missouri, and those honoring him as pallbearers will be Jason McKinney, Mark LaTurner, Ira McKinney, Chad Murphy, Russell Malone, and Kevin Bass.

Contributions in memory of Frank may be made to the American Cancer Society.
