Neontha Baughmann

(From Parker Mortuary)

Neontha Bonham-Baughmann, age 86, Seneca, entered her eternal home on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.

Neontha, daughter of the late Willie “W.O.” and Oleta (Ladd) Rogers, was born on December 27, 1935 in Blanchard, OK. She worked most of her life as a seamstress and was a tribal member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

She was united in marriage to Chester Hughes in 1955, to this union her three children were born. Chester preceded her in death in 1988. Several years later, she met and married Lloyd Bonham. Together they enjoyed traveling the United States until his death in 2001. Then in 2011 she was united in marriage to TJ Baughman and they enjoyed five loving years together until his death in 2016.

Neontha was a devoted wife and mother. Her life centered around her children and the Lord. She was steadfast in her faith and devotion to the Lord even toward the end of her life, praising with song and prayer. Leaving a legacy takes faith, drive, and consistency and Neothna lived her legacy which will carry on through generations to come.

Survivors include her daughters, Ladonna Peeples, and her husband, David, of Carthage, and Cynthia Hoffman, and her husband, Bruce, of Seneca; grandchildren, Sharaye Reid, Troy Peeples, Brooke Benham, Whitney Mills, and Jordan Hoffman; many great grandchildren; and several loving extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lawanna Neumann, and one son, Timothy Hughes in 2011.

Neontha was blessed to join a support group named Beyond the Walls. This is as support group directed by Nita Brady, from Modesto, California. After moving to Missouri in 2019, Neontha discovered that Nita Brady had began a support group called Beyond the Walls for Kids. Neontha began supporting this organization because she knew that this group could prevent children from following the example of parents that were incarcerated.
