(From Arlington Park Funeral Home)Kenneth "Ken" McCoy, late of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2022, at home, surrounded by loved ones.
Kenneth was born on July 22, 1955, in Webb City, MO. He attended high school at Webb City High School in Jasper County, MO and loved sports so much that he joined the wrestling team. He was part of the graduating class of 1973.
He joined the Navy and in 1977, during his service, he was on the USS Saratoga CV-60 Med Cruise out of Mayport in Jacksonville, FL. In 1979 he joined the Naval Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1982.
He retired from AT&T Telecommunications in 2016 with 37 years of service. During his career, he held many positions with the latest being a Cable Repairman. In addition, he was a member of the Communications Workers of America (CWA Local 3106).
During his first marriage, Kenneth's first two children, Jacob & Shannon, were born. He later married Kimberly McCoy & their son Justin was born in 1989. He & Kimberly were married for 35 years.
Kenneth loved to have fun & joke around with family & friends. He always loved sports, specifically football being his favorite and his favorite team the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also enjoyed fishing & being on the boat and growing his own tomatoes & peppers in his garden.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Kimberly McCoy; his sons, Justin McCoy & Jacob McCoy; his daughter, Shannon Stark; and his sisters, Chris Black and Susan Helms. Kenneth is preceded in death by his brother, John McCoy; his mother, Elma Hammond; his stepfather, Don McCoy; and his father, Paul Johnson.
Kenneth's funeral services will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Arlington Park Cemetery & Funeral Home. The viewing will be from 9am to 10am, with the service from 10am to 11am. After service, everyone will reconvene at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 12:30pm for military honors, which will begin at 1pm.
