(From Konantz Warden Funeral Home)Harvey Dean Brown, 84, of Lamar, MO passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday September 25, 2022, at his home in Lamar, MO. Harvey was born March 24, 1938, in Lamar, MO to Luther and Lula “Fern” (Russell) Brown.
On August 8, 1958, he married Fern Mayes. They were married for 64 years.
Harvey enjoyed golf, fishing, playing cards, and loved going to the casino, but his favorite past time was playing pool and shuffleboard with friends.
He retired from the City of Lamar Sanitation, Street and Water Departments after working there for 29 years. He was well known for his backhoe operating skills. Harvey also worked at O’Sullivan Industries, the salvage yard with his father, and the gas station with his brother.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; wife Fern (Mayes) (Seaton) Brown; brother Luther Allen Brown; son Dean Brown; 2 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; and 2 great-great granddaughters.
Survivors include son Wayne Seaton of Lamar, MO; daughters Vickie Clark of Lamar, MO; Verna (Robert) Pennell of Lamar, MO; Veronica (David) Tucker of Hixson, TN, 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren on the way; and by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Harvey was loved and will be missed by many. Donations in lieu of flowers can by made to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America.
A visitation and time of sharing memories will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday September 28, 2022 at Konantz Warden Funeral Home.
