Valerie Carlisle

Valerie Carlisle, 63, of Parsons, passed away early the morning of Thursday, September 22, 2022, at her home.

Valerie Williams was born on February 10, 1959, to David Maxwell and Anna Lou (Springer) Williams in Clarksburg, West Virginia. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in Clarksburg, graduating from Clarksburg High School in 1977.

Following high school, Valerie went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University in May 1981. She graduated Cum Laude. Her Major field of study was Organizational Communication, and her Minor fields of study were psychology and chemistry. 








She earned her Master’s degree from the University of South Carolina, Master of Education, in May 1983. Her Major field of study was Student Activities Program Management. She worked as the Coordinator of Student Activities at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri, for 17 years. In 2018, she moved to Parsons and worked at the data center for Commercial Bank until her cancer diagnosis in the fall of 2021.

She was a member of the Galesburg Christian Church. She loved reading books, gardening, and her family. Close friends and family would often refer to her as “AskVal.com,” due to her incredible knowledge of just about everything.

On October 13, 1988, Valerie and Jamie J. Carlisle were united in marriage in Sarcoxie, Missouri. He survives of the home.








Survivors include:

Her husband – Jamie, of the home

One son – Jeremy Carlisle (Sadie) of Topeka, Kansas

One daughter – Cara Rister (Ben) of Chesterfield, Missouri

Three Grandchildren – Olivia Rister, Max Rister, Koby Carlisle, and one on the way

One brother – Greg Williams (Vicki) of Fort Pierce, Florida

One sister – Candy Williams of Clarksburg, West Virginia

Her father-in-law – Larry J. Carlisle of Sarcoxie, Missouri

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The Celebration of Life will be 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
