(From Parker Mortuary)Alice M. (Burk) Bradford, age 95, of Joplin, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Webb City Health & Rehab.
Alice, daughter of the late Earl and Freda (Spencer) Burk, was born on August 1, 1927 in Webb City. She was a graduate of Webb City High School with the Class of 1945.
Soon after she went to work for Bell Telephone until the closure of Southwestern Bell Company office in 1984 and then went to work for the City of Joplin in the Municipal Court office until her retirement.
She was united in marriage to G. M. Brad Bradford on April 2, 1976. He preceded her in death on August 14, 2004.
Alice was an active and caring woman. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star serving as District Deputy Grand Matron for the 44th District Grand Chapter of Missouri and was previously nominated for Missouri Older Worker of the Year Award for District X in 1994. She was a member of the College Heights Christian Church of Joplin for several years. She loved her family and took every opportunity to be a part of their lives. She was a devoted wife and aunt to all of her nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Survivors include her sisters, Carol Misner, of Joplin, and Sharon Gladden, and her husband, Wallace, of Webb City; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert “Bob” Burk, and Jerry Burk; and one sister, Doris “Joan” Pyle.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Carterville Cemetery in Carterville. Friends are welcome to visit Parker Mortuary on Friday, September 23rd during normal operational hours for viewing and to leave condolences. Memorial contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice and may be entrusted to the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
