(From Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home)Anthony Benjamin “A.B.” Hill, age 91, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at St. Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage, Missouri. He was born September 17, 1931, in Lawrence County, Missouri, the son of Willis Francis and Cleo Gertrude (Royster) Hill.
A.B. was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korea Era. He was the owner/operator of A.B. Hill’s Excavating. He loved his family and enjoyed his backhoe work.
On June 19, 1953, he married Clara “Elenora” Masters, in Miller, Missouri.
A.B. is survived by his wife, of 69 years Elenora; his brother, Randy Hill of La Russell, Missouri; five grandchildren, Candace Vernon and husband, Ben, of Joplin, Missouri, Ryan Mayhue and wife, Katie, of Ozark, Missouri, Amber Hill of Colorado, Angela Young and husband, Jason, of Wilmore, Kentucky and John Hill of Stockton, Missouri; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and his best friend, Snoopy.
A.B. was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Cleo; daughter, Jeniece Mayhue; two sons, Kenneth, and David Hill; three brothers, Vernon, Gene and Darold Hill and four sisters, Jewell Hill, Geraldine Whitehead, Phyllis Dryer, and Margaret Snow.
A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Sycamore Cemetery, northeast of Miller.
