(From Brown-Winters Funeral Home)Mary Elizabeth McVay passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. She was born on April 2, 1926 and graduated from Fairland High School in 1943.
She married Floyd McVay on July 18, 1944, and together they Celebrated 64 years of marriage. She and Floyd enjoyed fishing together, they would often take fishing trips to Minnesota, she worked and enjoyed gardening and canning. She and Floyd were also members of the Church of Jesus Christ Restoration.
Mary was preceded in passing by her husband Floyd, parents Leonard and Vida Angel; two sisters Dorothy Plott and Alta Shamblin, and a great grandson Samuel Trummel.
Mary is survived by daughters Linda Harrison and her husband Carl of Owasso, OK Marilyn and Husband Steve of Keller, Texas, and Diane Adams and husband Mike of Joplin, Missouri, five grandchildren include Rusty Adams of Miami, Kristi Bushman and husband Scott of Richardson, Texas, Jan Trummel and her husband Steve of Owasso Lori Blythe and husband Shane of Keller, Texas, and Amber Wellborn and husband R.J. of Atlanta, Texas. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren that include Ryan and Carson Trummel of Owasso Kacy and Kendra Bushman of Richardson, Colton, and Cody Blythe of Keller, and Jace and Blake Wellborn of Atlanta, Texas.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami on Sunday, September 25, 2022.
Services will be 2:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ Restoration on Monday, September 26, 2022, with Brother Paul Adams officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairland Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Carl Harrison, Michael Adams, Rusty Adams, Carson Trummel, Curtis McVay and Cody Blythe.
