Patricia Frisbie

Patricia Ann (Davis) Frisbie was born in Douthat, Oklahoma, February 22, 1934, to Roy Edward Davis and Madge Pauline (Cooper) Davis. Her mother was the Douthat Baptist Church pianist and all of them sang. 

Patricia's earliest memory of singing was at Easter when she was 4 years old, the children's choir sang "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam". She was raised and schooled in Quapaw, Oklahoma. 

Her mother operated the Telephone Office there, working and raising her three daughters, Betty, Patricia and Virginia (known as Shirley) along with her mother, Geneva Cooper.

At the age of nine she accepted the lord as her Savior and Shepard. She was Baptized in the river at Devil's Promenade, joining the Frist Baptist Church in Picher, Oklahoma, years later moving her membership to NW Baptist Church in Miami, Oklahoma.

in 1949 she met a gift from God, Johnny Clayton Frisbie. "I was setting at the kitchen table waiting for friends to go to a movie and Johnny came into the room, I was so amazed it was like he was surrounded by a glow, later I found out he was engaged to a friend, she, me and others sang together at contest. However, two months later he called and we started dating. Sue didn't speak to me for several years." We were married the next year and blessed with three children. We later moved from Quapaw-to Picher, Oklahoma.

When all of the children were in school, Patricia enrolled at NEO A&M College, to pursue a career in teaching. After receiving her AA in Education, enrolled at Missouri State College, in Joplin, Missouri. During that time, May 08, 1970, she lost John in a boating accident. She finished her BA in Education at MSC and was hired at the Miami Public School System to teach at Washington Elementary, later changing to Roosevelt Elementary (where she taught 25 years before retiring), she continued her education at Northeastern College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma earning her Master's degree. After her retirement she moved to Miami, Oklahoma.

Then came some more gifts from God. Her grandchildren one by one were married and then blessed us all with Great-grandchildren.

Patricia was active in church, teaching, nursery, VBS, choir, helped with serving dinners, keeping the church neat and decorated and was the Sunday School Secretary.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, father and mother, husband Johnny C. Frisbie, sister Betty Louise (Davis) Doty, and a granddaughter Michell Lynn {Frisbie) Smith.

Patricia is survived by her son Johnny C. Frisbie Jr. and wife Joy of Bluejacket, Oklahoma, Paula A. Davis of Miami, Oklahoma, James L. Frisbie and wife Cindy of Billings, Montana, grandchildren Johnny C. Frisbie Ill and wife Molly of Fairland, Oklahoma, Shann Frisbie and wife Brandy, Joshua Frisbie, Chad Davis and wife Amanda, Krisha North and husband Lucas, all of Miami, Oklahoma, and Drew Frisbie of Billings, Montana. Her sister Virgina (Shirley) (Davis) Dry of Commerce, Oklah-oma, greatgrandchildren Dade Frisbie, Jeremy Frisbie, Korbin and Blake Frisbie, Drake and Jaylee North, Seth and Sayler Davis, and Aiden and Christian Smith. Three great-greatgrandchildren Camron Frisbie, Hanson Frisbie and Birdie May Frisbie. A niece Sherry Turner of Commerce, Oklahoma, two nephews Billy Dry of Miami, Oklahoma and Charles Lee Doty and wife Theresa of Wichita,, Kansas.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Webb City Cemetery in Webb City, MO. Rev. Charles Clevenger will officiate. Chad Davis, Seth Davis, Lucas North, Drake North, Korbin Frisbie and Shann Frisbie will serve as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK.
