Anna Moran

Anna Fay Hoagland-Moran, age 86, Joplin, MO., passed away on December 25th, 2021, in her home. Anna was born on September 14th, 1935, in Shoal Creek Township (Joplin, MO) to Lucas LD Hoagland and Mary Leona Shafer. She was the youngest of eight children.

Anna moved with her family to Indiana where they lived in the country for many years. Anna graduated from Young America High School in Deer Creek Township, Indiana in 1952.

After graduation, Anna moved back to Joplin, MO, and worked in several different industries, including manufacturing, education, and healthcare. She loved serving others and enjoyed volunteering as a candy-striper for the local hospital.

Anna loved country life, being outdoors, camping, and fishing. Throughout her life, she was able to accomplish many things, but her proudest accomplishment was her large family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, taking care of them, and celebrating them. Anna was the matriarch of the family and never knew a stranger. Any introduction led with, “everyone calls me Granny Annie” and she was always there to help anyone and everyone.

She is survived by her oldest daughter Anna Marie Jordan, Oronogo, MO; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Lucas LD Hoagland and Mary Leona Shafer; all seven of her older siblings; her four children, Jack D. Jordan, Tami S. Moran, David D. Moran, and LaDonna E. Patton-Moran.

A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory, Joplin.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for all the blessings and support during this time.
