Dawn Jeanette Derden, age 79, Stark City, passed away at 11:57 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Freeman Hospital after an illness.
Dawn was born May 10, 1936 in Memphis, Texas to the late Lacy Afton Phillips and Marjorie Mahota Webster Phillips and had lived in Missouri for 32 years, 13 of which were in Stark City.
She worked as office manager for Henderson Leather Company in Jenkins, Missouri for many years. Dawn enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking for her family, handy work, knitting, crocheting, embroidery and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Dawn is survived by her husband, Fenney Payne Derden; 4 children, Daphne Renee Derden (Rawlins), Marjorie Kay Derden (Smith), James William Derden, Dawn Caroline Derden (Cooper); a sister, Wanda Jo Stewart; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Dawn was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kyla Marie.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Highway 86, Granby. Richard Rawlins will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
