Herman Taylor, Jr., age 90, Joplin, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center after an illness.
Herman was born December 11, 1925 in Joplin to the late Herman John Taylor and Bessie Wheeler Taylor and had lived in Joplin most of his life.
He worked as a mechanic for Campbell 66 for twenty two years and Joplin Transfer and Storage for eight years. In his spare time, Herman enjoyed playing horseshoes and spending time with family. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Herman married Mary Lane on February 6, 1948. She preceded him in death on January 31, 2000.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ernie Taylor.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn Hylton and her husband, Everet, Joplin, Gaila Bullette and her husband, Mike, Joplin; a sister, Leona Thompson, Joplin; two grandchildren, Tracy Jones and Chris Bullette; and four great grandchildren, Keaton Jones, Kayle Jones, Louis Bullette, Landen Bullette; and numerous extended great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Graveside services are planned for Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Howard Cemetery, Goodman. Pallbearers will be Stacy Hylton, Mike Bullette, Chris Bullette, Keaton Jones, Wes Jones and Will Cupps. Military honors will be provided at the graveside.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
