Neil Felker, age 73, Carl Junction, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 at his home after an illness.
Neil was born October 8, 1942 in Joplin to the late Udah K. Felker and Maud Ella Patterson Felker and had lived in the Joplin area most of his life.
He worked at the former Grandpa's store on North Main for over 20 years and at the Botany Shop for several years. He then moved to Illinois when he took a job with Missouri American Water Company, only to move back to Joplin with the company and retire in 2004.
Neil enjoyed collecting guns and fishing equipment and fished any chance he got. He was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Keith Felker, Carterville; a daughter, Stacey Landes and husband Chris, Carl Junction; one sister, Janice Booe, Boise, Idaho; a brother, Mike Felker, Carl Junction; three grandchildren, Kyleigh Felker, Josh Landes, Trent Landes; and two great grandchildren, Avery and Abby.
Services are planned for Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Rev. Bob Simon will officiate. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Felker, Dusty Felker, Josh Landes, Trent Landes, Tom Berry and Ken Pierce. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Booe and John Booe. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of Parker Mortuary.
