Martha V. (Turner) Newton, age 88, passed away on April 13, 2016, at her home.
Martha was born on June 6, 1927 in Carthage, Mo., the daughter of the late H.O. Patrick and Myrtle (Kerr) Patrick. She graduated from Duenweg, High School. She worked as a machine operator for several manufacturing plants, and she worked fifteen years for LA-Z-Boy in Neosho, Mo. She was a member of Granby Christian Church and she was attending the Diamond Christian Church.
She married Paul E. Turner on March of 1946, and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1988. She then married Woodrow “Newt” Newton. They moved to California in 1990, moving back to Granby in 2010. Together they enjoyed traveling and dancing.
She is survived by one son, Bill Turner, Neosho; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, by three brothers, William Patrick, Rue Patrick, and H.O. Patrick, Jr.; and four sisters, Betty January, Sarah Frances Hasselbring, Mary Patrick, and Louella Patrick.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Stone Cemetery. Mike Wardlow, Minister will officiate. The family will receive friends 3-4 p.m. Sunday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Salvation Army in care of the mortuary.
