Marti Fitzgerald

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Marti K. (Cupps) Fitzgerald rejoined the love of her life, Robert S. Fitzgerald, on May 5, 2020. Marti was born on November 9, 1956 in Monett, Missouri to William and Phyllis Cupps. She graduated from Parkwood High School in Joplin, Missouri in 1974 and earned her LPN degree from Franklin Technical School in 1975.

Marti and Robert were married on October 22, 1977. Thirty three and a half years later, Robert passed away in the Joplin, May 2011 tornado. She relocated to Branson, Missouri to recover with the help of her brother and sister-in-law.

Marti enjoyed family gatherings, shopping with her nieces and friends, listening to music, lounging in the swimming pool and her nightly talks with her best friend, Leighann. Marti's 'children' were her cats and nieces and nephews. All agree that she gave the best hugs and back rubs. Loving, caring and stubborn. She was easy to talk to and never met a stranger.

Being a nurse, the was the one the family called on first. She also loved her extended families: the Cupps, Fitzgerald and Gages. She will be missed, but we all take comfort in knowing that she and Robert are together again. A huge THANK YOU to her special caregivers, nurses and hospice. They helped to east the end of her journey with love.

Marti is survived by her brother, Gordon Cupps and wife, Mary Jo of Branson, MO; nieces, Serena Tinsley and husband, Kendon of Joplin, MO; Melissa Dorminy and husband, Scott of Russellville, AR; nephew, Will Cupps of Joplin; great nieces, Addison Cupps and Jaycie Dorminy; great nephews, Tyler Tinsley and Fletcher Cupps. Marti is preceded in death by her husband, both of her parents, her brother, Bill Cupps, her sister, Mary Jo Cupps and her nephew Benjamin Cupps.
