(From Ferry Funeral Home)Robert Coleman Roe, 89, passed away on December 13, 2021. He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Thelma Mae Roe, and son Steven Roe of Ashland, VA.
Robert was born in 1932 in El Dorado Springs, MO to Odd Coleman and Amy Irene Roe. After graduating high school in 1950, he joined the navy and served four years, stationed mainly in San Diego where he met Thelma. They married on his birthday in June 1954 in Ohio.
He held a BA in Accounting from Kent State University and taught construction at Lamar, MO for 17 years. Robert loved the Lord and touched many lives. He served as a mentor to young and older people alike through his teaching and many years of service as a deacon. He had a tremendous love of family and greatly enjoyed spending time with friends and traveling. During their last years together, he and Thelma had many adventures, several taking them outside the country to Europe and Canada on cruises.
Robert is survived by his son Cole (Debra) Roe, daughter Reni (Randall) Geiger, and daughter-in-law Dee Roe; grandchildren Erica (Pat) Riley, Courtney (Aaron) Linville, Lauren (Steven) Barna, Jake Geiger, Sean and Darby Roe, and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will have a celebration of life at a later date to bury his and Thelma’s ashes, get friends and family together, and share memories.
