Theresa White

Theresa Jean White of Carl Junction, Missouri, formerly of East Liverpool, OH passed away at her home on Saturday morning, January 8, 2022, at the age of 90 with family by her side.

Born in East Liverpool on April 25, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Rose E. Barnes Callahan. She attended St. Aloysius School, Villa Marie High School and graduated in the Class of 1948 from East Liverpool High School. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from Kent State University with a degree in Education and continued her education at Youngstown State University where she earned a Master of Science in Education. 








Theresa retired in 1996 after teaching 25 years in the East Liverpool School District. She actively volunteered at the East Liverpool City Hospital and later at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO. She was a long-time member of the Holy Trinity Parish and later St Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Joplin, MO.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert D. White, daughter Nancy Jo White, and sister Joann Barnard.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: three daughters, Colleen R. Snitch (Bill) of Toledo, OH Carmel White of Lake Worth, FL, and Cathy Krist of Dayton, OH as well as two sons, Jeffrey White (Jeanne) of Falls Church, VA and Patrick White (Linda) of Carl Junction, MO. She also leaves behind a legacy of 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Friday January 14 at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4-7 p.m. Fr. Leo Wehrlin will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10 am at the Holy Trinity Parish. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park. All friends and family are invited to join in celebration of Theresa’s life at the Dawson Family Center immediately following the funeral services.

The family requests that condolences be made in the form of a donation in her name to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
