Harry Pierce

(From Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home)

Captain Harry Lee Pierce made his final flight today, August 21, 2024, from Argyle, Texas to meet his Lord and Savior. We know he met the smiling eyes of the Lord Christ upon his arrival and our Heavenly Father surely said, "Welcome Home Son"! Harry was a devoted Christian and never missed a chance to witness for his Lord.

Harry and twin sister Shirlee were born on June 15, 1936, at Carthage, Missouri. At the time, the family home was at Aurora, Missouri but during his childhood the family lived in different states, following his father who was a construction superintendent for Carnation Milk Company. In the late 1940's the Pierce family purchased a home and started a business at Sarcoxie, Missouri.

Harry graduated from Sarcoxie High School in 1953, finishing his courses in 3 years. He attended Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, Oklahoma receiving his Bachelor's Degree. He was employed by the Federal Prison System in Leavenworth, Kansas in the early 60's but with the Vietnam War starting, he joined the Missouri Air National Guard and received his pilot training at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona. Harry flew many different types of aircraft during his career. During his military time, he flew varied missions into Vietnam carrying troops and supplies. He also flew many Angel Flights out of Vietnam.

He was offered a job with TWA as a pilot and received an honorary discharge from the US Air Force.
He reached the rank of Captain after a short time with TWA and continued in this position until he retired 30 years later. He was living in Tempe, Arizona at that time but relocated to Dallas due to a health issue and decided to stay.

He loved to play golf, fish, run marathons and work out at the gym. After retirement from flying, he enjoyed politics. His love for his family was shown in many ways. He was always there to help in times of need.

His love of gospel music soon led him to meet his future wife, Patsy Bellington, a gospel singer and musician, who he married on December 19, 2015. His memory will be held close in the hearts of those who loved him, and his spirit will continue to encourage those left behind.

Harry is survived by his wife, Patsy, brother Kendall Pierce (Becky) of Carl Junction, MO, sister, Jan Brooks (Ron) of Osage Beach, MO., nephews, Ryan Pierce of San Francisco CA., Rhett Pierce (Jennifer) of Adair, OK., Reid Pierce (Ashley) of Bentonville, AR., Mike Fullerton (Robin) of Overton, NE., Mark Pearce of Tempe, AZ., nieces, Kristi Davis (Norm) of Wildwood, MO., Kathy Randolph (Otto) of Austin, TX., Connie Harding of Joplin, MO., Dayle Ann Falmer (Calvin) of Springfield, MO., Jayne Haskins of Diamond, MO., Judy Adams and Nancy King of Riverton, KS., Kim Nelson of Stillwater, MN., Kristina Murphy (Antwaign) of St. Paul, MN., step-daughter and family, Jamie Rodriguez (Efrain), Conner, Liam (Stefanie) and Anneka of Denton, TX., and stepson and family, Jim Sewell, Jordon (Jenny and Arianna) of Argyle, TX., and Cooper (Christina) of Fort Worth, TX.
