Melba Jean “Jeannie” (Spears) Keel passed peacefully on September 4, 2024 after many years of failing health. She was born August 25, 1940 near Anderson Missouri to parents James Spears and Delpha (Moore) Spears.
Jeannie was employed by Lockheed Martin in California and assembled instrument panels for airplanes. She married Richard Keel on February 10th, 1968 In Carmel, California.
After moving back to Anderson Missouri she became a real estate agent with Blue Ribbon Realty until her health failed. Her knowledge in real estate led her to invest in rental properties.
Jeannie is survived by her husband Richard Keel, stepson Michael Sturrock, sister Oletta Bagby and many nieces and nephews who have fond memories of Aunt Jeannie and her baby blue GTO that she drove.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, September 10, 2024 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri. Burial will be held privately at New Bethel Cemetery in Anderson. Donations to honor her memory can be made to New Bethel Cemetery Fund, c/o Donna Divine Jones, First Community Bank, 111 East Main, Neosho MO 64850. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
