Darwin R. Flathers age 82 of Oronogo passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Webb City Health & Rehab.
He was born on March 26, 1933 in Garwin, Iowa to Merlin Flathers and Stella (Powers) Flathers. Darwin was a United States Army Veteran, a member of the Oronogo Masonic Lodge, and also a member of the Oronogo Methodist Church.
He married Luvica (Belcher) Flathers on June 6, 1973 in Joplin and she preceded him in death on July 9, 2003. Darwin is survived by his children, Ricky Flathers (Deb) of Wisconsin, Rebecca Wilson (Willie) of Oronogo, Bucky Flathers (Cathy) of Oronogo; step-children, Kay Saurer of Michigan, Luvica Ervin (Arthur) of Iowa, William Haines of Iowa, Jim Haines (Cindy) of Iowa, Rosie Duncan (John) of Iowa, Gerald Haines of Iowa, Chet Haines of Michigan; 30 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren.
He has been taken for cremation, and the family will have a graveside committal service with full military honors at Oronogo Cemetery on June 20, 2015 at 10:00 AM.
