Marlene Brown age 70 of Diamond, Mo passed away June 8, 2015 at Mercy Hospital Joplin.
She was born on March 1, 1945 in Joplin, Mo the daughter of Lawrence and Dorothy “Reed’ Throop. She was married Noah Brown and to this union six children were born. She worked as a cashier for Express Truck Stop. She loved going to the casino, rodeos, country music and especially her family.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Glenna Stripling and son in-law Bryan Stripling. Survivors include four sons: Danny Brown and wife Paula of Neosho, Mo, Ronnie Brown and fiancé Jeana of Tulsa, Ok, Steve Brown of Diamond, Mo and Larry Brown and wife Jeanna of Diamond, Mo; a daughter Deborah Blackwell and fiancé Robert Butler of Diamond, Mo; a brother Larry Throop of Diamond, Mo; a sister Patsy Carlisle of Diamond, Mo; nineteen grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren with one on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday June 10, 2015 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory with Rev. Ron Crow officiating. Burial will follow in the Fidelity Cemetery Fidelity, Mo. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday June 7, 2015 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association in care of the mortuary.
