Velta Francis Woodward, Nixa, MO died June 19, 2015 at the age of 88 after a short illness. Velta was born in the Christopher Community, just outside of Neosho, MO on January 16, 1927 to William J and Estella Grace (Leggitt) Mahan. She was an LPN working in area hospitals. Velta was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Fredrick L Woodward on June 19, 1952, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Emily Woodward, Columbia, MO, two grandchildren, Hailey and Jackson Woodward, along with numerous Nieces, Nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband, Velta was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Arvel, Nelson, Herman and Fred Mahan and two sisters, Sarah Epperly and Faye Calentine.
