David L. Poe went home to be with the Lord on June 2, 2015, at the age of 83.
David was a loving and devoted husband to his best friend of 63 years, Emma Lou. He was a caring and proud father and grandfather to his son, Lew, daughter-in-law, Jeanine, and grandchildren, Jordynn, Elizabeth and Taylor.
Anyone that knew Dave knew that he loved talking about and working on cars, going to breakfast with friends on Wednesday mornings, telling stories from his younger years, and spending time with family. He was an active member of Wildwood Baptist Church and loved participating in the men’s bible study group. David left a legacy of hard work, unconditional love, and the importance of always seeing someone’s untapped potential.
Visitation will be Friday, June 12th at Wildwood Baptist Church at 6:00 PM. There will be a celebration of David’s life at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 13, at Wildwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wildwood Baptist Church Missions Fund.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
