Max Barlow

Max E. Barlow, age 72, of Webb City, Mo., passed away on Monday May 25, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, following an illness.

Max was born on October 5, 1942 in Webb City, Mo., the son of the late Glen and Opal Pauline (Showalter) Barlow. He has been a lifetime area resident. He graduated from Webb City High School. He served in the United States Air Force. Max worked as a letter carrier for the United States Post Office in Webb City, Mo. After retiring from the Post Office he worked fifteen years as a greeter for Webb City Wal-Mart. He was a Jehovah’s Witness. He enjoyed traveling, especially cruises, fishing, collecting knives and also sharpening knives.

He married Dorothy Fegley on April 15, 1967 in Joplin. She preceded him in death on September 5, 2011. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Glen and Jack Barlow.

Max is survived by one daughter, Julie North, Webb City, Mo.; one son Daniel Barlow and wife Pearl, Webb City, Mo.; one sister, Sharon Piilani, Wiscasset Maine; two grandchildren, Sarah and Adam Lovell, and four great-grandchildren, Kryslin, Kloae, Kaydin, and Aurora.
