Viola Wampler

Violet Wampler, age 89, of Carthage, Missouri passed away Thursday June 11, 2015 at her home with family members present.

She was born June 13, 1925 in Emmett, Idaho to Harris and Jonnie (Teague) Moss.

Violet was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, G.W, Miller Construction. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, the Alter Guild. Violet was a Life Masters Bridge Player and loved to fish.

She married Paul Wampler on November 27, 1945 in Columbus, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1991. She was also preceded in death by a step daughter; Polly Runge, one brother; Harry Moss, and two sisters; June Adams and Cleo Bowman.

Violet is survived by two sons; John Wampler and wife Margaret, Webb City, Missouri, Stephen Wampler, Joplin, Missouri, one step daughter, Carolyn Jenkins, Shell Knob, Missouri, one brother Tom Moss, Joplin, Missouri, ten grandchildren; Meredith Wampler Kuhn, Dan Wampler, Megan Wampler Crane, Lindsey Hettinger, Brooke Gavino, Christina Jenkins Evans, Chely Jenkins Peterson, John Runge, Gretchen Biehl, Elise Runge, tweleve great grandchildren.

Those gentlemen honoring her life by serving as pallbearers will be, George Moss, Chris Moss, Bob Moss, Bryan McDonald, John Runge, and Dan Wampler.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am Tuesday at Park Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri with Father Steve Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary chapel.

In Lieu of flowers contributions are requested to Mercy Hospice in care of the mortuary.
