Ned Neff

Ned Franklin Neff, 85, Neosho, died June 15, 2015 at his home in Neosho. 

Ned was born September 12, 1929 in Splitlog, Missouri, the son of Ila Adam and Emma Caroline (Boren) Neff. He lived in Goodman and then resided in the Granby and Neosho area. Ned was self-employed and did custom baling, welding and foundry work as well as hog and cattle farming. He partnered with family in operating Neff Strawberry Farms. With the help of his wife, Faye, Ned owned and operated Neff Trucking for 35 years and upon retirement from trucking, he built several homes. He was skilled in mechanics, auto body work, carpentry, cabinetry and generally anything he set his mind to. Ned loved playing his guitar, gardening and just working hard. He shared his musical talents by playing music with his wife in church and revivals for over 40 years. Ned loved the Lord and as long as he was able, he faithfully attended the Silver Moon Full Gospel Church. He loved spending time with family and friends and was adored by his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Ned married Leota ‘Faye’ Cook on December 7, 1973 and she survives. Also surviving are children, Linda Patterson and husband, Ralph of Goodman; Diana McCleary and husband, Charles of Neosho; Vicky Kahl and husband, Randy of Brownsville, TX and Scott Lawson and wife, Cathy of Collinsville, OK; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, N. Stephen Neff; two sisters, Verla Mooth and Beatrice Eppard and two brothers, Archie Neff and Joe Neff.
