Bill Nichols

William 'Bill' D. Nichols was born November 16, 1947 in Mansfield, Missouri, the son of Lowell E. and Ola (Coy) Nichols. On May 7, 2020, following a brief illness at the age of 72 and with family at his side, in his own words, "I won!" He is rejoicing in Heaven!

Bill moved to Neosho as a child and was a graduate of the class of 1965. He attended Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, North Dakota and Central Bible College of Springfield, Missouri, earning a BS degree in Christian Education and Bible. 

Bill and Paula Jo (Compton) were married on July 2, 1971 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Together they pastored at Abundant Life in Neosho, Missouri from 1986 to 1997, as well as other churches in Missouri, Minnesota, South Dakota and Indiana. 

After serving in Evansville, Indiana, they returned to Neosho and he served as chaplain at the Hunte Corporation. Bill was an avid car enthusiast and that led to his second career, PB and J Auto Body that he operated until this past year. 








Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Paula; three sons, David (Michelle) Nichols of Seattle, Washington; Johnathan (Amanda) Nichols of Nixa, Missouri and Jeremy (Rachel) Nichols of Sullivan, Missouri; five granddaughters, Vanessa, Ellana, Haleigh, Ariana and Emelia; two brothers, Wendell (Joyce) Nichols of Calhoun, Georgia and Lee (Bonnie) Nichols of Billings, Missouri and one sister, Lois (Alan) Warneke of Kalispell, Montana.

In consideration of family and friends, due to COVID, there will only be a private family service. However, friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home on Monday from 9 am until 5 pm to share their condolences. The casket will be closed at all times. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the ministry of your choice or to Convoy of Hope, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, Missouri 64850.

Clark Funeral Home will be following the protocols set by the State of Missouri Health Department and the CDC social distancing.
