(From Clark Funeral Home)William F. “Bill” Ballard, age 84, of Anderson, Missouri, passed away at 4:15 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was born April 12, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Harry Francis and Mable (Sands) Ballard. On April 11, 1959, he married Lois Marie Talley in Topeka, Kansas. Together they shared 63 years of wedded bliss.
Bill proudly served in the Air Force, Army National Guard and the Air Guard retiring as Master Sergeant after 35 years. He worked for Johns Manville Insulation Company in McPherson, Kansas retiring as lead maintenance man.
In 2000 Bill and Lois moved to Anderson to be near family. Bill was a member of the American Legion Post and the VFW in Kansas. He loved fishing, camping, cooking, especially BBQ, and spending time with his family.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Lois, two sons Robert Ballard of Anderson and James Ballard of Neosho; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Robert Ballard, three sisters, Shirley Snyder, Evelyn Fredenburg, and Ann Alvey; and one grandson, Phillip preceded him in death.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
