(From Parker Mortuary)Susanne Jeannette Moran, age 50, of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Freeman West in Joplin after a sudden illness.
Susie was born October 25, 1971 in La Mesa, California, and moved to Joplin as a child where she attended Joplin schools before graduating from Joplin High School in 1990.
She attended East Central College in Union, MO and later earned a Business Management degree from Vatterott College of Joplin. She worked for several companies in financial management positions.
She was artistically talented and studied art in college. She loved music, singing and learning to play the piano as a child with her sister Marcy, and enjoying a variety of music as an adult, including a recent interest in Christian music. She was a good athlete as a child, and she enjoyed acting in several plays. She liked sewing and quilting, and she loved animals.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and was very proud of her kids and grandkids. As a mother she enjoyed taking the family to swim and be outside in the summer. She enjoyed cheering for her son’s sports teams and going to yard sales with her daughter.
Susie was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Morris, who passed away June 19, 2008, and a brother, David Moran, who passed away July 31, 2018.
Survivors include her daughter, Justine Moran of Webb City, and son Sean Moran of Neosho; stepchildren Travis Morris of Carl Junction and Amber Morris of Duquesne; grandchildren, Zethan, Zylin and Annabelle Busker of Webb City, and Kylin Moran of Neosho; mother, Colleen McNeil and husband William of Webb City; father, William Moran and wife Robin of Sedalia; brother, Matthew Moran and wife Annette of Carl Junction; sister, Marcella Julius and husband Doug of Leslie; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
