(From Ozark Funeral Home)Tobey ‘Tompkins’ King, 47, of Southwest City, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022.
She began her journey on January 10, 1975 in Neosho, Missouri to, Guy Walter (G.W.) and Karen Lynn (Hobbs) Tompkins.
She was united in marriage to Bobby King on October 15, 2001, at the United Methodist Church in Southwest City, Missouri. Tobey was an educator and taught at Crowder College (Jane Campus), McDonald County High School, Southwest City Junior High, and Trinity Christian School.
Before earning her bachelor’s degree from Missouri Southern in Joplin she earned two associates degrees from Crowder College. She worked for Wal-Mart and Simmons making many friends along the way. Tobey enjoyed working at River Ranch during the summer season and tutoring students in math. She enjoyed deer hunting in the fall and she and her husband coached several baseball teams in Southwest City. In her teenage years she worked at “The Pizza Place” in Southwest City. Tobey will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her, father Guy Walter (G.W.) Tompkins, daughter, Tabitha Knight, son Bo King, grandsons Payton and Basin King.

Tobey is survived by her husband, Bobby King of the home; three sons, Matthew Knight, James King, Walter King, Mother, Karen Tompkins and sister, Casey Stanley. Grandchildren; Hannah Krell, Christopher King, Jr., Chandler King, Castiel King, Willow Grace King, Brynleigh King, Naomi Jean Guy and Ovalyn King; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and neighbors who will dearly miss Tobey’s quick wit, sarcasm, honesty and kindness.
A Celebration of Life service will be held October 15, 2022, from 2pm – 4pm in the Rendezvous Room at River Ranch Resort 101 River Road, Noel, MO 64854. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Trinity Christian School PO Box 489 Neosho, MO 64850 (Please note Tobey King Memorial).
