(From Ozark Funeral Home)Susan Marlene Talley, 73, of Goodman Missouri, left this earth with family by her side on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
Susan was born October 25, 1950 in Plainview, Texas to the late J.W. and Nadine (Walker) Butler. She married the love of her life, Jerry Don Talley on February 12, in 1969. They have spent 55 years together. To this union, 2 children were born. She was a member of Crosswired Cowboy Church in Grove, Oklahoma. She was a lifelong resident of McDonald County, where she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, sisters, and friends.
She has had numerous jobs. Ranging from working at the chicken plant and the café beside it in Anderson Missouri. Working for her late mother at Ozark Café and Café 71. To being a cook for the Anderson Elementary School, and working as a payroll clerk for WAL*MART Warehouse 8 in Bentonville, Arkansas, where she retired from.
She loved to cook, making sure her family was fed. Cooking was her passion. She enjoyed going fishing, going to church, reading her Bible, reading guidepost, playing with her grandchildren, ordering groceries from Walmart and Sam’s Club and having them delivered to the home, and being ornery in a good way.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Nova Elaine Butler.
Susan is survived by her husband, Jerry Talley. A son, Jerry Daniel Talley and his wife, Doris, of Anderson Missouri and a daughter, Tosha D’Lyn Sherman, of Grove Oklahoma. Four grandchildren: Hannah Sherman, Ruth Sherman, Noah Sherman, and Ehren Talley. Three sisters: Ava Jeanene Mathia and Jim Mathia of Grove, Oklahoma. Marcella Kathleen Madewell and Marvin Madewell of Goodman, Missouri, and Debbie Dorlene Smith of Grove, Oklahoma. As well as many cousins, nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
Those that knew her or worked with her, knew she was generous, loving, kind, and loved the Lord. She was always willing to help, lend an ear, and do whatever it took to get a job done and she knew that God was with her and that her life was blessed because of Him.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri, with Russell Brisco and Daniel Talley officiating. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery in Anderson.
Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Daniel Talley, Carl Talley, Mark Talley, Steve Wasson, Gary Wasson and Johnny Carlton. Honorary Pallbearers are as follows, Jesse Carlton, Heath Carlton, James Mathia, Spencer Greathouse, Marcus Pratt and Darrin Hill. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
