(From Parker Mortuary)Betty Jean Massman, 71 of Joplin, Missouri, formerly of Cherokee, IA, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026.
Betty Massman, daughter of Melborn and Etta (Fegebank) Massman, was born on September 12, 1954, in Le Mars, Iowa. She attended school in Northwest Iowa and graduated from Marcus Community School in 1973. Following High School, she went to work for Ryan Givens & Company and continued working even as the company changed names to Kindwall & Company and then finally to Burkhardt and Dawson until she retired in 2019.
Betty started battling many health conditions and in July of 2024 she decided to move to Joplin, Missouri to be with her sister.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sister Lynette (Ron) Ross of Joplin, Mo, several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Phyllis (Jerry) Parrott, Charles (Betty Lou) Massman, Clifford (Nancy) Massman, Pearl (Ron) Henke.

Cremation arrangements are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO.
